CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

Job dimension

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates, executes and controls the Instrumentation and Control activities in Projects and/or proposals in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards. Assists in the outsourcing management, implements the company's working instructions and KPI application.
  • Directs and coordinates all project Instrumentation technical issues related to equipment specification, procurement and installation.
  • Subcontractors qualification and follow-up.
  • Monitors the progress of Instrumentation engineering documents through the computerised
  • Document Management System (eDMS).
  • Ensures that all relevant International Standards and Discipline Working Instructions are correctly followed in the engineering phase.
  • Supports the Discipline Manager on Control and lnstrumentation's technical issues.
  • Identifies tools for adequate efficiency improvement.

Main tasks:
  • Reviews the Client technical documentation and ali relevant legislation, standards and codes requirements.
  • Participates to the engineering man-hours estimation for the Instrumentation and Control activities.
  • Complies with the Group Technical Standards and GEMS processes, raises comments and deviations when necessary,
  • Participates to the definition of the Control and Instrumentation list of deliverables, time schedule and controls activities in accordance with Contract requirements.
  • Participates to the technical documentation preparation for Discipline engineering activities subcontracting.
  • Ensures that the Safety Management System and Quality Assurance requirements are followed throughout the engineering phase.
  • Examines and finds solutions for complex Instrumentation engineering challenges.
  • Discusses project deliverables with the Engineering Project Manager to ensure their timely and cast-effective execution.
  • Undertakes technical audits of potential subcontractors.
  • Reviews project specifications for subcontracting scopes of work.
  • Visits suppliers, subcontractors and monitor their activities.
  • Evaluates bids and documentation from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitors and reports on projects progress.
  • Reviews Discipline risks associated to Control and Instrumentation design and systems.
  • Keeps abreast of relevant developments in Control and Instrumentation engineering with respect to the offshore industry in general and the Company's business in particular.
  • Input lessons learnt into the corporate database and maintain Discipline's register.
  • Attends lessons learnt reviews.
  • Attends project Control and Instrumentation\ SIL reviews
  • Supports to company-PC \ Operations Projects
  • Attends project discipline reviews
  • Ensures use of corporate design tools Carries-out internal presentations
  • Provides support in developing vendor relationships
  • Provides support for the organisation of external presentations
  • Conducts technical interviews.
  • Attends training courses, seminars etc. when required



Required profile

Work experience 15 years minimum in the Oil and Gas industry. Engineering degree:
  • B. Eng (Hons) degree in Engineering.
  • Or any other equivalent school (e. HNC\HND qualified)
  • Must be autonomous, and with good team spirit.
  • Strong technical skills on products and systems associated to the business.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently, and to provide technical leadership and technical supervision.
  • Ability to manage several activities in parallel, combined with flexibility and strong organization.
  • High level of English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge in SPI administration is a plus.
