ROLE / FUNCTIONS


Engineering specialist who provides solutions to physical protection system (PPS) analysis, design, and installation for physical protection, nuclear materials management, and equipment testing/evaluation


  • Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
  • Assess and validate fulfilment of defense in depth concept.
  • Perform Vulnerability Assessments (VA)
  • Perform models and simulations to analyze and assess the effectiveness of physical protection systems on the sites
  • Determine the Physical Protection Systems for the site
  • Identification of safety requirements.
  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for physical protection system
  • Evaluate physical security designs/implementations for compliance with requirements
  • SME's in Detection/Delay/Response, VA, Mod/Sim, etc.
  • Ensure the implementation of engineering codes and standards.
  • Use computer tools for safety analysis.
  • Analyze and interpret the results of safety tests.
  • Produce nuclear safety documentation.
  • Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
