ROLE / FUNCTIONS
Engineering specialist who provides solutions to physical protection system (PPS) analysis, design, and installation for physical protection, nuclear materials management, and equipment testing/evaluation
- Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
- Assess and validate fulfilment of defense in depth concept.
- Perform Vulnerability Assessments (VA)
- Perform models and simulations to analyze and assess the effectiveness of physical protection systems on the sites
- Determine the Physical Protection Systems for the site
- Identification of safety requirements.
- Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for physical protection system
- Evaluate physical security designs/implementations for compliance with requirements
- SME's in Detection/Delay/Response, VA, Mod/Sim, etc.
- Ensure the implementation of engineering codes and standards.
- Use computer tools for safety analysis.
- Analyze and interpret the results of safety tests.
- Produce nuclear safety documentation.
- Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
