CARGO SUPERINTENDENT

Job dimension


British DTp Class I (Master Mariner) Certificate of Competency or equivalent plus equal Certificate to satisfy flag requirements.

• Valid dangerous cargo endorsement (Petroleum) attached to certificate.

• Minimum 7 years' service on tankers of which at least 2 years Chief Officer or Master o VLCC's.

• The Cargo Superintendent is in charge of all oil and ballast movements on the FSO, including transfers of oil and water from the wet oil tank

• He/she implements a programme of regular crude oil washing of cargo tanks.

• He/she ensures that the FSO permissible shear forces and bending moments are not exceeded.

• He/she ensures that water discharges overboard from the slip tank do not exceed the instructions and Field Authorities ' regulations.

• He/she is responsible for structural maintenance of the vessel, including corrosion prevention in cargo and ballast tanks.

• He/she is responsible for the transfer of oil during an offload operation, including metering and sampling,

• He/she is in charge of commercial papers link to crude oil lifting as per Company and lifting agreement instructions.
